Many scientific studies have proven that higher levels of the hormone and neuropeptide oxytocin not only result in greater optimism but also in stronger feelings of happiness and invincibility, thus helping us see the world as a better place to be. Furthermore, oxytocin can be naturally produced by such simple things as a kiss, a caress, a hug, a smile, patting a pet or receiving good news. Everything positive seems to trigger its production. The more oxytocin in our blood stream, the happier we are.
So go ahead and hug your loved ones, pet your dog or cat or even adopt a new one!
Enjoy life, J.
